X355 ,df As we review the year 1971-72 in the brief history of Catawba Academy, I will remember the year fondly for the friendships and associations begun this year. ln a period of transition and change of administration, I feel that our accomplishments have been solid, well-grounded, and positive in nature. The new innovations and typical growing pains were accepted by our student body and parent body with grace and cheerfulness that was a delight to the headmaster. When asked to do unpleasant tasks for the good of the school, you were always ready. This attitude about our academic program carried over to the sports program as our athletes, cheerleaders, and fans kept the Catawba Academy spirit alive and vigorous. Thank you, the 1971-72 students and staff oi'Catawba Academy for making this year so pleasant for me. May we go forward from this point with the determination that, with God's help, we will continue to grow into an excellent independent school giving a thorough background for life to all young people who enter our portals. Sincerely, B. O7Neal Compton 86
