PRINCIPAL MR. RALPH c. BROWN Congratulations to the Class of 1955! Members of your class have worked hard to maintain the high traditions of Catasauqua High School. Your achievements in the classroom, in sports, in activities, and in good citizenship are worthy of emulation. We hope that you have not only learned basic knowledge that will assist you in your chosen vocation, but also have acquired those social virtues which are so important to a happy and successful life. The word commence- ment denotes, to begin and not to end , there- fore, it is our hope that your graduation will be the beginning of a greater search for knowledge which will make you a worthwhile citizen of your community. C.. SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL MR. CLYDE S. FRANKENFIELD With this volume the members of the Class of 1955 have recorded the story of their years in Catasauqua High School. In the years ahead, no doubt, many of the mem- bers will peruse these pages, recalling scenes and incidents depicted herein, and in nostalgic mood, refer to them as the best times of their lives. As a parting word to the Class of 1955, permit me to say that while you, in this your class recording, would like to refer to these events and achievements in the super- lative best , your teachers would like to say that, for you, there will always be better things. Indeed the best training that your high school can give you is the ability and determination to strive for better things. This is truly the greatest gift of your American heritage. Out of the never ending struggle for better things there has developed the free America of your day. And the Class of 1955 must never forget to carry on with this tra- dition. In the great new world of tomorrow all your efforts must be combined to make better those things which we now call best. Thus, you may make yourselves worthy of your heritage.
