One of their main activities was supervis- ing assemblies and presentation of contestants for the Sports Queen. Another one of their main duties during the year was to usher at school and class as- semblies. Block CV gets around.

The Rally Committee is made up of a group of boys who have at least a C average and a good standing in their school record, They are the boys seen wearing the green and white hats and arm bands. The club's initial duty is to control the students at athletic games. They also usher at assemblies. This year, the Rally Committee sold apples and peanuts at the football games. Vlaardinger. 9 Tw AT Sa: SCIENCE OUTING CLUB The preamble of the Science Outing Club states: We, the members of the Castro Val- ley Science Outing Club, do hereby state as our goal the preservation, the exploration and the enjoyment of the natural wonders of Cali- fornia and other scenic resources of the Uni- ted States, including the forests, waters, wild- life and wilderness. To this end, the Science Outing Club has gone on many excursions, visiting the desert, Nevada, and many places in California. They also worked on many proj- ects during the year such as the biological habitat between A and B wings. 56 TEACH ERS OF TOMORROW The goal of the Teachers of Tomorrow is to create an interest in the field of teaching and to enable students to learn more about teaching. This year the club introduced a mer- it system. ln it, a member had to earn points by working for teachers, attending California Educational Club meetings in San Jose, and in helping in P.T.A. meetings. The two persons earning the most points received pins.
