C.S.F. ln the fall of l958 the C.S.F., which is short for California Scholarship Federation, was composed of 79 members who were inter- ested in visiting and learning of different col- leges. The officers are elected at the start of each semester and the officers for the fall semester were: Doug Hallen, President, Sue Stavert, Vice-President, Bev Hoover, Record- ing Secretary, Janice Hokenson, Correspond- ing Secretary, and Fred Van Natta, Treasurer. Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Barnhart were the advisors. Among the activities of the C.S.F. was a field trip to Stanford University. A tutoring service was also instituted to help students having difficulties in the Science-Math areas. S 1 I I I I

Q MAJ MAO R A L L Y B A N D The rally band plays at the basket- ball games and it also plays at the foot- ball games when the marching band is not there. MSAMQE iiwym, The rally band is made up of drums, trumpets, trombones, clarinets, baritones, flutes and cymbals. The rally band members are made up of the top members of each section of the instruments used. MEGAPHONE Once a week after school on Wednes- day, the Spartans' Megaphone Club met to help students wishing to learn the school songs and yells. Led by head song girls and yell leaders, the club also trained those students who later desired to be- come cheer leaders or song girls. The officers of the club were: President, Arleen King, Vice President, Pat Perry, Secretary, Lorrie Laughter, Recorder, Ar- lene Kaastrup, and Treasurer, Jerri Long.
