FOREWORD This year at Castlewood High has given us many things to remem- ber: The happy reunions of the first days at school. Then, too, the sad feeling, some realizing this would be their last year at C. H. S. The excitement of the football season followed by the Homecoming . . . , The first six weeks ' tests .... The Christmas Season .... The anxiety of exam week .... Junior-Senior Prom .... and then .... Gradua- tion. For some students, this year was their first at C. H. S. For others, their last. For everyone it was A Year to Remember.” Weather permitting, Old Glory” is hoisted to her lofty height each morning. Kyle Hillman and Johnny Ziegler are performing this duty, while Frank Clifton plays to the colors. 15

: • ' v ADMINISTRATORS It is most appropriate that we honor our principal, Mr. Carter, who has played a major role in our school lives. In addition to his many duties as principal, he has in- spired us to keep pace with the great strides in curriculum changes, athletic compe- tition, and student activities. He has led our school through the transition from the eleven-year to the twelve-year system. We express our deepest gratitude to Mr. Carter for the many things he did to enrich our lives and make this year A Year to Remember. Class of 1962 Dr. G. H. Givens Divi sion Superintendent The Schools of Russell County Since 1928 17
