THE YEAR 1960-61 MARKS THE COMPLETION OP THE CASTLEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL THE The completion of your fine auditorium, a modern athletic field, and the addition of six classrooms and cafeteria at the elementary building, brings to you and your community the most adequate and modern school facili- ties to be found anywhere in the western part of Virginia. The fine cooperation of you and your parents has made this possible, and we are all very proud of this achieve- ment. We must remember, however, that this building is only a means to an end. It is the young people within the walls of the build- ing that make the school. This school was erected to make it possible for you to de- velope the abilities which you have, to the fullest extent. I feel sure you have taken full advantage of the opportunities which have been available to you, and it is my fervent hope that all the boys and girls of the Castle- wood community will, in years to come, take full advantage of the increased opportunities which they have. ADMINISTRATION In Appreciation It is with much pride and pleasure that we write a per- sonal message of thanks to you, Mr. Carter, our principal. We thank you for the many times you have told us of the need to prepare ourselves for tomorrow. Now tomorrow has become today. We feel that we are more prepared to meet the many challenges of this new decade since having you as our principal throughout our high school years. Our stay has not only been happy years, but also, most profit- able years.
