PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE As you enter through these doors it should be with a sense of pride and gratitude- -pride that you have such a fine and imposing building with modern facilities and equipment- -gratitude that your parents have gladly made it possible for you to attain the foundation for an education in most any field of specialization that you may desire. You are living in an age of science and space--an age of change, discovery, development, rockets, electronics, skill, and technology. The way of life, the way of doing things, and the way of education have been undergoing tremendous changes during recent years and will continue to undergo far greater changes in the future. You will find the challenges interesting that confront you and the corripetition great in every field of endeavor. You must possess the general education, the skill, and the know-how to cope with the ever increasing demands that will be always in front of you. The days that you spent in high school can be either stepping stones to a higher, richer, and nobler life or to one that will be fraught with disaster and hardships, A good attitude and much application to your subjects and duties will help you to get started on the road to success and happiness in life. In the future, as you turn through the pages of the Castletonian, may it bring back to you pleasant memories and the worthwhileness of the days you spent in Castlewood High School. J. E. CARTER, Principal 12
