Swiftly tomorrow is today, and today is yesterday. As we add new dimensions in our life, and time has dulled our memory of familiar faces, may they again be recalled by turning the pages of this yearbook. In order to help you remember and cherish these MEMORIES, We would like to leave with you the Castletonian. May you have many hours of pleasure turning through its leaves. E IOR CLASS HI TORY It was September of 1955, that we as eager Freshmen set foot in the halls of Castlewood High School to begin the first year of high school. Sue Couch was elected as president to lead us through a momentous year. As Sophomores, we became better adjusted and assumed our roles as 'tcertified citizens of Castlewood High School. McArthur Carty was our president. As we joined the various clubs, we began to feel that we were more a part of high school life. In the fall of 1957, our junior year, we really began to feel our importance and to participate in activities that will be a major part of our memories. We chose Eva Price as our president. How proud we were when we donned our class rings! We sponsored the Junior-Senior Prom with Shangri- La as the theme. This is one of our memories that will linger on. And we are now Seniors. As we begin our last year, Mary Ruth Sproles is our class presi- dent. We have played hard and cheered loud to lead our team on to victory in both football and basketball. Mildred Johnson reigned as queen to our Homecoming. With the coming of spring, ordering our invita- tions, calling cards, and measuring for caps and gowns, we have become aware of the sorrow of leaving. Now we realize our years at C.H.S. have been memorable ones. But before we leave, we want to express our many thanks and deep appre- ciation to our teachers who have worked so patiently to help us reach our destination. Our happy and sad moments here at Castlewood High School will be reflected in future years through our MEMORIES of 1958-59. -20- C SS OF '59 Alderson, Catherine Linda Freshman Club 1: F.H.A. 2: S.C.A. The entire squad is made up of eighth graders, freshmen, and sophomores. They are a separate unit from the varsity and this will give the younger boys a chance to gain experience before playing varsity ball.
