THE CASTLETONIAN . for 1956 Published by THE JOURNALISM CLASS of CASTLEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL Castle wood, Virginia Castlewood High School FOREWORD A picture cannot reveal the feelings or nature of a person. Neither can the joys the students have had at Castlewood High School be re- vealed in this sixth edition of the “Castletonian.” It is hoped that these few pages will serve as a key to many wonderful memories of Castle- wood High School. CONTENTS Page Foreword 2 Dedication 4 Administration 5 Faculty 8 Curriculum 1 1 Classes 17 Seniors 18 Juniors 32 Sophomores 36 Freshmen 40 Elementary 43 Organizations 47 Athletics 61 Advertisements 71 — 3 — THE STAFF HONORS Miss Margaret Riner With high esteem for her ability, guidance, gay spirit, and friendly personality, the sixth edition of the Castletonian is dedicated to Miss Margaret Riner. Miss Riner is a typing and bookkeeping teacher, a guidance director, co-sponsor of the junior class, co-sponsor of the Commercial Club and also sponsor of the Beta Club. “Do anything well or not at all” can certainly be said to be her standard. She is a person who always seems to be available and not too busy to counsel any student who needs her advice. This dedication is only a small token of appreciation to Miss Riner for her outstanding qualities. ADMINISTRATION County Administrators’ Work Pays Dividends Jack B.
