FOREWORD This, the 1967 edition of the CASTLETONE, is hoped to be an adequate review of the school year at Castleton State College. Adequate—not more than that. This book was being prepared during the time that the 1968 edition should have been in the preliminary stage. Because half the time that should have been spent on it was put into this book, does not mean that it was a “rush job.”-lt means simply that many things that should have been done were literally impos¬ sible to accomplish. A year is necessary to prepare a “year” book; the same year. Pictures of freshman orientation cannot be taken in April or May; if missed in September, they remain missed. You can’t butter your bread after you’ve eaten it. In February the S.A. decided on a summer publication, rather than have no book at all. At this time there was no editor. Because of loyalty, dedication to my class and school, and insanity, I took the job. The majority of these photographs were taken with a brownie or a borrowed camera. Some are poor, but better than none. Here is the 1967 CASTLETONE, in spite of problems with financ¬ ing, time, equipment, and personnel. No color, not even off-color, just a few black and white remembrances for some who attended CSC during the 1966-67 school year. Mike Bove editor CALVIN COOLIDGE LIBRARY 1965
