HOFF GOVERNOR STATE OF VERMONT EXECUTIVE CHAMBER MONTPELI ER To The Class Of 1966: It is a pleasure for me as Governor of Vermont to join the faculty, students and friends of Castleton State College in dedicating “The Castletone 1966” to Dean Florence A. Black. Dean Black’s career of service at Castleton spans a period of great growth and development at the college. The significant expansion in program and intellectual activity at Castleton reflects her personal dedication to the ideas of education and to the concern of the people of Vermont for continually enriching the lives of our youth. She has inspired many young people, first as an instructor in history, geo¬ graphy, art, music and physical education and more recently as Dean and Acting President of the college. I can think of no greater testimony to her contribution to Vermont than to express my gratitude that so many persons who have shared her wealth of knowledge and experience are now teaching a new generation of pupils throughout the State of Vermont.
