TOO MUCH CAN NEVER BE ENOUGH The band has earned over 200 trophies. Throughout the years of Castleberry High School, the band has accomplished a great deal. They hove received 231 trophies. From 1959 to 1979, the band only had 22 trophies. Since 1979, un- der Phillip Aikman’s direction, the band has won 209 trophies. The band has traveled to many states and countries. They hove been to Orlando, Florida where they came home with 15 trophies out of only three events. They also went to Mexico twice to the In- ternational Contest and won two gold medals, one for concert band and the other for jazz band. The band has been in the Rose Bowl Parade. They have also been to Louisiana, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. The jazz band has travled over- seas numerous times. They were the United States Representative at Sean Phillips snickers at Phillip Aikman while Rodney Wode closes his eyes on the whole subject. the contest in Warsaw and they were the only high school jazz band to perform in the Soviet Union. They were invited by the gov- ernment to perform in Kiev and Moscow. They toured Romania and went through Daracula’s Castle. They have had four tours of Eng- land. The band has toured the British Isles in 14 days includig 17 performances. They have gone to Poland where they won 27 tro- phies. The jazz band won first place in every contest except for one in which they placed second. The Castleberry High School band has been very successful throughout the years. They are very well known and very well thought of. The band students should be commended for all their hard work and their dedicatin. The student body should be very proud of the Castleberry Lion Band. The characters of Wizard of Oz ore Dovid Payne-the Tinman, Bill (rews-the Lion, Suzanne Willioms-Dorothy, and William Dorden-the Scarecrow. Krista Minarcik and Eric Martin do their so ute at contest.
