LION SPIRIT ... The life of the Castleberry Lions roared along similar to a freewheeling society. The signs of the times not only enlightened the students but gave them a manner of identifying themselves. Whether it was Wranglers or Gloria Vanderbilts, a running fox or a playful Polo, a Nike or an Adidas, gold or silver, or if they were punk rockers or preps, they shared their life styles and their spirit. The spirit was not a tangible substance but nevertheless a vital essence of Castleberry High School. As the spirit generated, there was love and friendship, caring and sharing, and sorrow. These all contributed to the spirit of life at Castleberry. The students and faculty caught those essential qualities portraying Lion Spirit — strength, hope, wisdom, and most of all, love - and they instilled them in their minds as well as their hearts. This style of spirit compelled one to look at life through this year's activities, caused one to catch the Lion Spirit, to hold it, to preserve it, and, most importantly, to pass it on. 210
