STANDING, Left to Right: Kiah O'Brien, Joe Castleberry, J. T. Cockerham, H. L. Lewis. SEATED, Left to Right: O. O. Strother, J. G. Alexander, and Mrs. Ir- ma Marsh. Board member not pictured--Roy Gallagher. Building castles in the air was the thinking of many good citizens of our community when someone suggested a high school for the Castleberry School District. But, almost like a fairy story, a castle was built high on a hill overlooking a wide domain and someone named it Castleberry High School. Like castles of olden years. Our school is a sturdy structure, founded on such basic principles as honor, integrity, scholarship, democracy, and high stan- dards of citizenship. Within the walls of this educational castle, many happy and profitable hours are spent with study of books, acquisition of knowledge, and techniques of learning. A full academic curriculum is offered to all. The extra-curricula activities are extensive in scope, full of good wholesome entertainment, rare performance, and artistic skill, spiced with thrills, fun and excitement. The students who attend the castle on the hill are loyal subjects who pledge allegiance to their administrators, teachers, and student body for the school year. They are intelligent, studious, sincere individuals who are endeavoring to achieve certain objectives and attain de- finite goals for the future. I am proud of the Castleberry High School and its rich heritage of loyal supporters--stu- dents, teachers, parents and community. With this background of school support, our castle will never decay. It will continue to grow in tradition as each graduation class from year to year passes through its portals and can lookback with pride and love to its Alma Mater--and the Castleberry High School. Mrs. Irma Marsh, Superintendent
