Art Castle Park's art department has many outstanding students who are vitally interested in artwork and are constantly improving stated Mrs. Miller, Art instructor. Art students work independantly on projects and are also taught to meet their individual needs. During the year, pupils work with various crafts, paints, work with clay, and make silver rings. They also decoupage and work with a potter's wheel. A 1967 Castle Park graduate, who attended the Art Center School of Design in Los Angeles, returned and showed classes some of his displays. Also, Vicki Jones, a 1968 graduate from C. P., came back to student teach. Artwork is viewed in the display window of the art room. . .. WHWWF9' The new decade brought new sound in vocal music to Castle Park. This is the first year in six that a Trojan Choir, with boys and girls in it, has existed. The Choir has 48 members, with Mary Magbanua serving as president. Other outstanding members include, Seniors: -lohnny Cordero, Stoney Tate, and Rosalie Gradillas. They are directed by Mrs. Karen Silveus. The Trojan Choir was active and had many performances including: A district Christmas production of The Messiah, Enter Spring in March, district Spring Concert April 24, County Festival April 26, Southern California Festival May 8, Pops Concert May l7, and a final performance Two Tickets to Broadway May 30 and 3lst. my There is also a small, select group of 17 students entitled Mlihe Castle Park Vocal Ensemble which gives those advanced students a chance to rehearse and perform more involved music and also to do more pop-oriented numbers. , lry,
