5 H Wim.-gn.., ML In the spring of 1941 realizing the fact that America needs more trained flyers and that the youth of America has repeatedly demanded facilities for learning to fly, Castle Heights Military Academy joined with Cumber- land University in bringing to Lebanon an airport where the students of both institutions are given instruc- tion. The Lebanon Flying Service, a branch of the Nashville Flying Service, purchased three new Piper Cub Trainers for use at the field, and capable instruc- tors are in charge. The Nashville Flying Service has a safety record of 12 years during which time they have never injured a student or a passenger. No cadet will be allowed to enroll for this course without written permission from his parents and until he has passed a physical examination by a physician designated by the Civil Aeronautics Authority of the United States Government. The cost of the course in flying, taken under the Lebanon Flying Service, is in line with similar courses all over the country. No cadet under 16 years of age will be enrolled for this course, and no cadet under 18 years of age can qualify for a private license although he may go ahead with his flying and take his required flying time before his eighteenth birthday.
