With both pride and humility we salute you, Mr. Roy I-lubanks, the best custodian a school ever had. Although I have only worked with your sponsor for a period of one year, and with you for two years, it has been a pleasure. I sincere- ly hope that the experiences and events confronting you in the past two years will prove valuable to you in the future. You are about to leave a carefree life to assume the toga of man and womanhood in a heartless and inconsiderate world, with all its responsibilities and temptations. Never again will you have the oppor- tunity which has been offered you in the years of your life at Cassville High. Many times you have been given another chance in order that you might have a better opportunity to succeed in life. In college or in the business world you will be given but one chance , and if you fail in your trust no one is injured but yourself. Some of you may return to visit the friends and haunts of earlier days to talk of old times, and live the old life over again in your imagination. Perhaps some of you may meet even in the outside world - but you may not ever hope to assemble as a class again, the class of 1958, therefore let it be resolved as a group, to remember, wherever you may be, that you are graduates of Cassville High and that you are duty bound in honor to show yourselves, as a class, to be a credit to your ALMA MATER. The best success to all of you is my sincere wish. E.v. D ' 3 If ,N r 'N -ff , , I J if X ,- J Stevens Point State College and University of Wisconsin. B.S. In the fall they marched at Platteville for its annual Dairy Day celebration. Three weeks later they again ventured to Platteville, this time to com- pete for prizes in the college homecoming parade. They placed third in stiff compe- K tition with larger bands. At Christmas time they presented their annual concert which was greatly enjoyed by all who attended. The band, together with the mixed chorus, went on a caroling party the twenty-second of December. It was a huge success and will long be remembered. ,EFI-,-Pg-2:-Lai' 4-551,-Ps lilflffaa -42. ...... As the weather warmed up, the band began practicing for the District Music Fest- ival held in the spring. The Solo Ensemble Contest was held' on March 28, at Platte- ville, and was attended by about thirty students, who had a lot of fun and still gained valuable experience. The Marching Festival was held on April 26, at Platteville, where the band competed for honors in the category of marching. As the school year came to a close, the band played for the Class Night festivities. This group showed much promise and gave a preview as to the band in the following year. All of the students very much enjoyed their band experiences and feel that it had been a lot of fun as well as a lot of work. 1---?'Fr'Li'5 'H Ff '-F:J-':q Fr r'FJ-E -43- ,iii as ..,-,a: .. ,.., fs in I - . , . In the center circle was a huge, gaily decorated Christmas tree. At one end of the floor was an ice-skating scene depicting the theme .... Winter Wonderland. At the opposite end of the floor, beautiful, hand-drawn scenery added a wintery touch to the atmosphere. Colored lights added a touch of fairyland to this festive affair. Barbara Brinkmann reigned as queen of this gala event. The members of her court were as follows: Janice Valley. Judy Cadwell, Carol Slaght, Donna Jean Yager, and Ruth Kirschbaum. The music was furnished by the Jack Busch Orchestra. The queen was crowned by Kim Klauer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klauer.
