Downer The last bell has rung, and the first notes of the processional are sound- ing. Your jolly times with your fellow students, your sports, your joy, your work, and your sorrows at Cassville High will soon be but a mem- ory. You are about to leave a carefree life to assume the toga of man and woman in a heartless and inconsiderate world, with all its responsi- bilities and temptations. Never again will you have the opportunity which has been offered to you in the years of your life at Cassville High. Many times you have been given the benefit ofthe doubt and time after time you have been given another chance in order that you might have a better opportunity to succeed in life. In college or in the business world you will be given but one chance, and if you fail in your trust. . . no one is injured but yourself. Some of you may return to visit the friends and haunts of earlier days, to talk of old times, and live the old life over again in your imagination. Perhaps some of you shall meet in the halls you know so well, some may meet even in the outside world. . . but you may not even hope to assemble again as a class, the class of 1957, therefore let it be your last resolve as a group, to remember, wherever, you may be, that you are graduates of Cassvi1le High and that you are in honor bound to show yourselves, as a class, a credit to your Alma Mater. FOTR LIGHT YEARS BACK ..... On September lst, 1953, fourty-seven freshmen enrolled in the Cassville High School. A few weeks later, we had our initiation party, which the seniors of 53 and 54 gave for us. During our freshmen, sophomore and junior years, Gretchen Brinkman was our class president and in the senior year, Allen Taylor was elected president. Nancy Bernhardt held the office of secretary and treasurer during our first and junior year and Pat Klauer held this position as a sophomore. Darlene Kitelinger and Fred Elliott were our student council representatives through our first three years together, and for this position during the last year, Karen Kirschbaum, Sandra Ober- shaw and Allan Okey were elected. Our advisors respectively for our four years were, Mr. Billerbeck, Mr. Eveland, Mr. Holt, and Mr. Hampton. The theme of our Junior Prom was I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles. Karen Kirschbaum and Jim Starrett were king and queen. The court included, Eleanor Cook, Carol Slaght, Gretchen Brinkman and Pat Klauer. Through our four years we earned money by serving at basketball and baseball games and dances. We also sold magazines and other materials. In our junior year we added much to our treasury by presenting our class play, Headin' for a Weddin'. Each year, we have taken a class trip. We have journeyed to Dubuque, the Cave of the Mounds, and the Wisconsin Dells. It is with both joy and sadness that we look back over our four years together. As we go our separate ways in life, we will always remember our experiences at Cassville High School. 10 .Q ff K Q Victor I... The most important part of being in sports is the ability to get along and play with a team. Building the mind along with building the body is the main purpose of any sport. This year, perhaps more than any previous year, the student body has shovxm more school spirit and gooo sportsmanship at games. As our school grows in QCont. on next page...j BACK ROW: James Mooreg Mgr., Kenneth Mumm, Jerry Siemann, Dennis Jack, Gaylord Hollister, David Marting Mgr., Mr. Lynn Okeyg Coach. 'Z' 2 size, the competition between the various members of the areas of sports will become more keen. With new sports of football and track in the offing, CHS will have much to offer in the sports field. The games are now only a record of figures in score books, but far more important are the mem- orable impressions made on the minds of the players and the students. CHS looks forward to an even brighter future in 1957-58. Cobb Livingston Benton Patch Grove Potosi Campion Bagley Bloomington Mt.
