Remember the excitement when Miss Jimmy was kidnapped and held as ransom to secure dates for the Brier Mountain College girls? Even Droopy, Professor Frazier, and Miss Watkins were quite perturbed. To this position Sue Hawk was elected. The summer and fall's activities consisted of marching at the rodeo, American Legion parades, Aurora Fair, Ozark Empire Fair, Labor Day parade in Springfield, Armistice Day parade in Monett, Cassville Reunion, and Joplin War Dad's parade. Besides all of these activities the girls added a spark of life, pep, and rhythm to the football games. The flashiness of the black and gold uniforms and the accurate cadence of the group added much to the entertainment at these events. DRUM CORP' I.
