THE SENIOR BAND The Senior Band consisting of fifty members, began the year by elect- ing officers: President, Sheila Burris, Secretary, Nevon Tarbellg Treasurer, Larry Waite, and Librarian, Corinne Luce. The first event of the year was a concert at the Gerry Homes for the Harvest Festival in September. At the Jamestown Mid Winter Fair twenty members of the band competed against Frewsburg and Southwestern and won the final prize. An early concert on March llth initiated a busy spring season for C.V.C.S. musicians who always are such a source of pride to members of the student body. ' .1 1 F1r.r! Besides increasing their skill and pleasure in music, the existence of such an organization guarantees experienced players to replace Senior Band members who graduate, The prospect of being able to play in the Senior Band represents a worthwhile goal to these young people whose long hours of practice are rewarded in the fine music they play together. As juniors the class of '55 presented Cassadaga Valley's first melodrama Caught in the Villian's Web. The play was directed by Mr. Swanson, the class advisor. This riotous play was a big success and turned out to be more hilarity than deviltry. . a X . 9- I 1' 4' f x - 255, t, 52 Suphnmww .72 CLASS OF '55 As inexperienced Sophomore-s they presented High School Mystery. This play, under the capable direction of Mr. Gordon Swanson, was among the most outstanding ever put on in C.V.C.S. The plot was unusual and the cast wonderfully capable-leaving us with a tremendous hit. 5 Q 4 LU -1,119 4 fv Om T QS-I Om 2640 Complnments The Name BALFOUR Stands for the frnest rn The Borden Co Slnclalrvllle N After Graduation Keep Up Wlth the World by Readmg T e JAMESTOWN SUN Southwestern New Yorks Fastest Growmg Newspaper 200 W Fourth St Jamestown Class Rings Club Plns Dlplomas Medals 8.
