I -1, J CLASS OF 1945 Prestdent Rlchard Hart Vrce Pres1dent Ralph Robmson Secretary Elna Freeburg Treasurer Lee Nyhart S September l944 arrlved we the class of l945 began to grasp the full rneanmg of our responsrbrhty as p1lots on the C V C S plane We be gan to v1ew a clearer aspect of school our new 1ob and of llfe ln general We were eager and hopeful to garn some badly needed experlence durrng the year We had to admlt a mlnor defeat when 1n the Student Councll electlon the Iumor candrdate won the Presrdency However we perked up durrng the football season when our squad gamed second place 1n the league The sen1or play THE GHOST BIRD was frnally presented December 22 after two postponements because of the weather Desp1te the obstacles the play was well recelved by a large audlence ln Aprll the class held a farewell party for some of our class members who were leavlng soon for the armed forces Those leavlng were Edward Franklrn and Dlck Hart Howard Fredrrckson Ralph Robrnson and Wayne Barhrte havlng left prevrously May brought the Iuruor Sernor Prom and the galety of butterfly and May flower decoratlons An art1f1c1al pool banked w1th flowers and placed 1n the center of the gym lent a rornantlc touch to an already romantrc sett1ng and the SGDIOTS made much of the opportunlty Gordon Iosephson and Ehzabeth Fox were chosen as Prom Klng and Queen At last the Yearbook Staff was organrzed and began tts work wlth the s1ncere hope that th1s Valley Vlew w1ll serve as a Joyful rem1nder of those grand old golden rule days Many thanks are due our class advrsers, M1ss Crapo, Mrss McDonald, Mr France, and Mr De Lacy, whose efforts on our behalf have done so much to brmg success to our class actrvrtres A I I I I ' t I I . . . ..
