Cass-Sch. Haven Our first away game was at Sch. Haven. The play was dominated by Cass throughout most of the game. After the opening kickoff and an exchange of punts Fredecine completed a pass to Frantz in the end zone. The P.A,T. failed, Cass 6 - Sch. Haven O, The second quarter was scoreless. At the opening of the fourth quarter, a Haven punt was downed on their own 16 yard line, From there Brennan went over for the score. Lazarchick added the point Cass 13 - Sch, Haven O. Haven scored later on a pass. Al Brennan electrified the crowd wim a 66 yard run for the last score. Pritz made the P. A.T. and the Condors had upset highly rated Sch. Haven 20-6. Cass- Ashland Cass moved to its fourth straight win when they met Ashland on October 8. A fine run by Weber of Ashland enabled them to score, Moore tackled on the extra point. Ashland led 7-O, Midway in the 2nd quarter, Lenick broke off tackle for a 19 yard touchdown. The extra point failed. Ashland '7 - Cass 6 at the half. ln the second half, after recovering a fumble Fredecine found Lenick all alone in the end zone. The extra point failed. Score Cass 12 - Ashland 7. Lazarchick scored from 12 yards out for the final score. The extra point was completed. Final score Cass 19 - Ashland 7. Cass-Blythe Scoring in every period Cass rolled to a 47-0 win over Blythe Township. Six players broke into thescoring column for the Condors. The final two points were scored on a safety, The Blythe offensive was completely stymied by a strong Cass defense which refused to yield a first down on the ground in the first half. 51

THE RECORD Cass-Minersville On Friday, September 7, the Condors opened their season with the traditional neighborhood rival, Minersville. Cass held the upper hand in the first half keeping Minersville offense in check for two periods. With the game still scoreless, in the fourth quarter, Minersville blocked an attempted quick kick, recovering on the Cass 25. Two plays later Woodford fumbled as he raced across the goal, Gustitus recovering for the score. Reynolds con- verted. Final score Cass 0 - Minersville 7. Cass-Marian Catholic Thursday night, September 14, the Condors romped over Marian 34-0. The first touchdown came i.n the second period when Lazarchick scored. The half ended Cass 7, Marian 0. In the third quarter, Cass broke the game wide open by scoring 20 points and then proceeded to add a fifth score in the fourth quarter. Cass-West Mahoney The Condors, seeking their second victory in their third straight home game, proved to be a formidable foe. Cass, displaying a fine offense and a rock-ribbed defense set out with victory in mind. The Condors marched '78 yards for their first TCD., with Al Brennan scoring. Cass-E. Mahanoy Twp. Friday, October 19th the Condors registered their sixth victory in seven starts at the expense of E, Mahonoy Twp, Cass scored early in the game when Lenick gathered in a punt, and raced 60 yards to paydirt. The extra point attempt failed. Cass then marched 63 yards on nine plays for their second score making the P,A,T. In the second half after receiving the kickoff, Cass went on to score two more TD's missing the P.A,T's. Score Cass 24 - E, Mahanoy 0, Cass-Lansford Displaying the same speed and power that humbled six other opponents this year, Cass romped toa39-0 decision over Lansford. Brennan and Lenick led the Cass scoring parade with a pair of touchdowns. Fredecine turned inthebest performance, passing for three touchdowns and scoring another.
