Fifteen SCH. HAVEN-CASS On Septemher 29. a highly favored Sch. Ilayen High School teain entered the Cass Township Nleinorial Stadium and eked out a close 13-6 xictory oyer the fighting Condors. The halt ended with the score 0-0, hnt in the third and fourth quarters, Sch. Haven scored enough to win the game. Cass scored its lone touchdown with less than toni' minutes to play when Paul Cretsliy fell on 11 loose pigskin in the end-zone. CASS-ASHLAND Scoring twice in the first halt. Cass defeated Ashland hy the score of 12-0 on the Condors gridiron, which was in a slightly muddy condition. Midway in the first quarter the Condors scored on a run hy Al Brennan, who along with Ted Leniclc. ran Well all evening. The second touchdown was scored in the second quarter when Ted Leniclx ran 2l yards, Neither tcain scored after this and the game ended with Cass winning, 12-0. CASS-BLYTHE On October 153, the Clondors chalked up their third victory of the season by nosing out Blythe Township 6-0, The lone touchdown which was scored came in the second quarter when quarter-hack. Francis Kopich, heayed a per- fect pass to Frank Butsko. who made a great catch in the end-zone, Up to this date the lllack Panthers hadnt won a game, hut gax e the Cass fans one of their hest exhihitions of the Campaign.

CASS-MINERSVILLE In the opening game of the season, Cass lost to a very powerful Miners- ville team by a score of 28-6. The Condors were unable to get started against the Miners powerful line. At the end of the first half, Minersville was leading 14-6, but scored twice in the second half to win. Cass scored its lone touchdown on a 28 yard pass play from Francis Kopich to Frank Butsko. CASS-MARIAN CATHOLIC On September I6, Cass romped to a 46-0 triumph over Carian Catholic in the opening home contest of the season. After a close first half, the Condors of Coach Pat Droskinas, went on a rampage and scored 6 touchdowns Steve Studlack and Ted Lenick were the chief offensive threats for the Condors. Every member of the line crowned himself with glory by his fine work on offense and defense. CASS-WEST MAHANOY TOWVNSHI P In a very thrilling game, West Mahanoy Township eked out a 12-6 vic- tory over the fighting Condors. Both teams played hard, but a 35 yard pass play gave West Mahanoy the winning touchdown in the third quarter. Cass had several scoring opportunities, but fumbles and penalties erased them. CASS-MAHANOY TOWNSHIP A very powerful Mahanoy Township team entered the Cass Township stadium with a winning streak of eighteen straight games. In the early moments of play the Condors went 55 yards on 12 plays for a touchdown. Ted Lennick ran well on the march, but the touchdown play was a pass from Francis Kopich to Paul Cretsky. Lenick ran for the extra point and made the score 7-0. At the half Mahanoy Township led 13-7. For three periods Cass held the formidable visitors, but in the fourth quarter, the Purple Larks scored twice and won the game. The final score being 27-7. CASS-LANSFORD On October 29, the Condors entered a rain soaked Lansford field and battled the Panthers to a 0-0 tie. Due to conditions of the field the officials were forced to reduce the length of the quarters. Both teams had a few scoring op- portunities, but neither could capitalize on them because of the driving rain and sloppy field. It was a well played game and both teams deserved praise for their efforts. Sixteen
