As A. -as lhswxsx. 0 Successful careers in art are attained by many Cass graduates who get diplomas in Commercial Art, Costume Illustration, and Arts and Crafts. All three of these curricula are planned to qualify students for jobs with Detroit studios, department stores, news- papers, manufacturers, and advertising agencies, as well as for further study in art school or college. Basic courses in drawing, painting, design, and art history are designed for all students in the art de- partment. Lettering and layout, poster, merchandise illustration, and graphic design are the specialties in the Commercial Art Curriculum in Costume Illustra- tion, techniques in fashion illustration and costume design are stressed, while iewelry, metal craft, and plastics are elected by those in the Arts and Crafts curriculum. as s.
