,M .--,ian 'lr JOSEPH G. WOLBER ORVU-J-E HEFT Principal Assistant Principal GARNER BOWLBY Principal, Summer School Administration The Triangle is one of the oldest and most hallowed of Cass Tech traditions. The story behind the name is lost to pre- sent day pupils, but the name has persisted through the years. The real significance of the Triangle lies in the fact that it is produced by Cass High School pupils, it records the school life of these pupils, their hopes, their joys and sorrows, their friends, their teachers, their lessons, their sports, the ir organizations . It is a treasure-house of the most care-free and the happiest time of life, the high school age. It is my hope that the Triangle of 1952 becomes for you who are graduating the richest source of pleasurable recall of your student days atCass. I hope that the undergraduate marks the current volume as part of a series of three, that record the history of the group with which he is identified. I congratulate the staff whose efforts this yearbook represents. I trust that the Triangle will continue for many years to come as the symbol of Cass tradition. Miss Mueller is a native of Saginaw and lived there throughout her high school days . Following her graduation from the University of Michigan, she started teaching in Mt. Pleasant, then spent a year teaching in Port Huron. This was followed by three years experience in drafting at Fenestra Steel Products, after which she returned to her first love-teaching, this time in Detroit. She was assigned to the Mathematics Department at Cass Tech, where she has been one of the popular teachers for more than twenty years. Miss Mueller has always maintained a keen interest in the affairs of mathematics, not only locally but throughout the state. In school math- ematical circles she is known as the author of Geometric Concepts , a text in intuitive geom- try. Currently she is co-author of a geometry text, which is being used in manuscript form at Cass Tech. As her school career ends and new adventure in the field of matrimony beckons, she carries with her the best wishes of all her associates. 'h V lqfvd ' t- Tait.. As an aftermath she was placed in charge of study halls where her wise and friendly guidance touched gently but effectively the lives of thou- sands of Cass students. Mrs. Ellen Drew will ever be remembered by all who have known her as one of Cass Tech's keystones -- a gracious, kindly gentlewoman. Mrs. Drew is enjoying retirement tsince January, 19522 at her home in Berkley, Michigan. Her summers will be spent at her lake farm home. Retirements Miss Ganotmg, who was secretary in 113 for 30 years, retired on September 30, 1951. An efficient worker, who was a friend to everyone, Miss Ganoung came toCass in 1921 fromasirn- ilar position in an intermediate school. She was a very kind considerate person withaquiet kindof humor. I could always count on her to come through in a pinch , said Mr. William Stirton. Miss Blanche Ganoung If L- K, Mr. George Schumer Mr. George Schumer, after 26 years in janitorial service, is retiring. He spent his entire employment in this building, workedwith seven different principals , and carried out every order issued to the best of his ability. During the summers, he assumed the responsibility of maintaining the 400 different plants in this build- ing and all teachers are grateful for his keen interest in plant growth and maintenance. Beginning in June, Mr. Schumer plans to spend his entire time attending his invalid wife - and, time permitting, maintaining his beautiful garden of flowers which surround his east side home.
