FGREWCRD We :ire young America, gay and exciting, casual and cock-sure, the solid citizens of tomorrow. We think we're going out to set the world on fire because we know within ourselves that we have the ability to see a job through. Our elders look at us bewildered, shake their heads, and mutter, UThis younger generation. They stare at our crew-cuts, hobby sox, long skirts, and hot-rods, our new-fangled way of speaking. We, in turn, go right on be-hopping with uDiz,', hucklehucking and having a Mreal coolv time. Wye sigh with Frankie and groan with Damone. These new fads and fancies belong exclusively to our generation. This is our American birthright, and we enjoy it to the utmost. Underneath our brash flippancy, we yearn for an understanding of the turbulent political and economic status of the world about us. We try seriously to discuss the aspects of communism, the atom bomb, and socialized medicine. Breathing freshness into a confused world, we continue to make merry until the day when we shall exchange our giddiness for maturity and as- sume our rightful status as responsible citizens of our country. Perhaps your picture is included with the graduating seniors. Probably there is a snap shot that you can point to and say Hthat's me over in the right hand corner. I know that as you now look through this annual you will find real pleasure in recognizing your many friends in these pages. But I do hope you will keep this Triangle, and after many years, look it through again. Then you will see the same photographs but in a different light and from another vantage point. I hope that you will find that you have kept and strengthened many of the friendships you found at Cass Tech. l hope that the ambitions and ideals that you ac- quired as a student at Cass Technical School will have by then matured and developed into substan- tial realities. Such can be the case if you will continuously keep before you the high challenge and responsibility to make your education and your training be of service to your community and to your fellow man.
