CASS LAKE HIGH SCHOOL TOUCHSTONES 1982 - 1983 ...centuries old, the smooth green shining stone and old and brittle the long yellow fingers of the man who sat in the sunlight rubbing the polished bit of jade, softly, over and over. His face was cut and chiseled deep with the etching of the long dead years but his eyes, as he rubbed the touchstone, were as young and shining bright. With each touch of the oft-felt stone, memories came crowding pushing back with their resurgence the very stuff of time itself. He was no longer old and filled with weariness; The dust of disillusion was wiped clean from the tired old eyes and they glowed once more with the remembered fervor of all the happiness left 'neath the accumulated rubble of the passing years. For this was the magic of the stone, that its touch held no essence of evil, but that through its wizardry came only the good...only the sweet... THE TOUCHSTONES... MAGIC KEY TO VAULTS OF HAPPINESS REMEMBERED! We the Senior class of 1983 at Cass Lake High School proudly dedicate the 1983 Touchstones to our Parents who have: Encouraged—Bringing forth hope Supported—Backing us all the way Assisted—Helping us from the start Comforted—Easing our pains and burdens Sacrificed—Giving up so we could receive Endured—Standing by through the years Contributed—Doing more for us than anyone else Loved—and are loved in return.
