FEA fFuture Educators in Actionj officers this year were Lotte Shine, pres.g P.I. Finster, v. pres. and Iarita Dunn, sec.- treas. Sponsored by Miss Thompson, FEA contributed to Woodlawn Center and presented a tea for Lewis Cass teachers. Several members were in the Exploratory Teaching Program. The FEA FEA, Student Tutors Strengthen Educational System year ended with a senior banquet at Morris-Bryant Inn in Lafayette. The student tutor program involved juniors and seniors who worked with 7th and 8th graders needing extra help with their homework. They provided the individual help which teachers were sometimes unable to give in class. Speech, Science Clubs Help Entertain Cass Ioining forces with the Palette Club, the Speech Club constructed their Homecoming float as a second prize winning castle and sponsored eventual queen Luci Bowyer. Speech Club members participated in all phases of the drama program, hoping to gain enough points to become a member of the Thespian Society, an honorary group of actors. Thespian Society members at Cass included Iamie Murray, Lotte Shine, P.I. Finster, Scott Foster and Michelle Goff. Among the activities of the Science Club this year was to show the movie The World's Greatest Athlete in a convocation for the entire school just prior to Christmas recess. They also sponsored a guest speaker, Dr. Mikel, who visited Cass and discussed organic chemistry and pharmacology. The jr. high Science Club took a trip to Elwood Haynes Museum and to the Howard County Historical Museum as a part of their club activities this year. Their new project I for 76 was a school beautification program.
