Autumn is going back to school while geese fly south, the sound of a shot penetrating the distant air, the smell of leaves burning, and the crunch of kids jumping into piles of dry leaves. Autumn is gathering pumpkins for Halloween and for a Thanksgiving pie. It is picking corn in the fresh, crisp air with a scent of winter. Autumn is the hunter and his dog stalking the corn fields, or watching a football game snuggled in a warm blanket. But most of all autumn is a prelude to winter ... the first trace of snow in October and the grey, somber November sky. Autumn 5

Nature follows a predestined course. Spring; life comes forth. Summer; it lives out its life. Fall; it dies. Winter; life stays dormant. Nature goes by reasons ... and so does school. Some like autumn; school starts, football begins. Others like winter; the velvety blanket of snow, Christmas and New Years. Still others prefer spring; baseball, mud puddles, warm weather, school ending. No matter which season is one person’s favorite, there are plenty of activities for each student as each season unfolds its own appealing qualities. 4

Gasyniski Coaches Mr. Bifoss, Mr. Watson Varsity Football Team Has Spirit The C.C.H. S. football team began this past season by losing with good margins to Frankenmuth and Mt. Morris. We followed these games by playing a poor game against Bad Axe. However, the team showed their strength when they won over Sandusky, 18-6. In the following weeks, we had close contests with Caro and Marlette, although we didn't make any wins. This season ended with a non-conference game with North Branch, which finished in a tie. Our team was composed of a large number of underclassmen who should form a good nucleus for next year's football season. SCORES cc 6 Mt.
