Receiving third place was the Seniors' float. 1 t CUT 'EM UP - HEAD 'EM OFF, the championship float, was the result of the first year of Junior High panic ipation. The Juniors were awarded the second place rating. 9

Homecoming — First Event of The 1968-69 School Year Students and townspeople lined the street at dusk to watch the annual parade that precedes the Home- coming game. After the parade, spectators huddled in the stands to escape the settling chill, and proceeded to enjoy our game with Vassar. At half time, everyone waited breathlessly to learn the outcome of the election for Homecoming Queen. Jean Russell was crowned by Kathy Mark, the Homecoming Queen of 1967. The Queen and her court were escorted by Senior football players. After the game the students danced to the music of the Corrupters from Vassar. The Sophomores decided upon BREW- ING A VICTORY as their float’s theme, while the Freshmen chose UP, UP, AND AWAY. 8
