We followed these games by playing a poor game against Bad Axe. However, the team showed their strength when they won over Sandusky, 18-6. In the following weeks, we had close contests with Caro and Marlette, although we didn't make any wins. This season ended with a non-conference game with North Branch, which finished in a tie. Our team was composed of a large number of underclassmen who should form a good nucleus for next year's football season. SCORES cc 6 Mt. Homecoming — First Event of The 1968-69 School Year Students and townspeople lined the street at dusk to watch the annual parade that precedes the Home- coming game. After the parade, spectators huddled in the stands to escape the settling chill, and proceeded to enjoy our game with Vassar. At half time, everyone waited breathlessly to learn the outcome of the election for Homecoming Queen. Jean Russell was crowned by Kathy Mark, the Homecoming Queen of 1967. The Queen and her court were escorted by Senior football players. After the game the students danced to the music of the Corrupters from Vassar. The Sophomores decided upon BREW- ING A VICTORY as their float’s theme, while the Freshmen chose UP, UP, AND AWAY. 8
