Foreword January 8, 1968, the students moved from the time worn edifice that housed Cass City High School for forty one yeats into a sparkling modern building designed to accommodate the ever increasing number of students. The reactions vary, but in most students a subtle change is almost visible--a new energy, a new quest for knowledge in a more academic atmosphere. Carl Sandburg once said, It is the men and women, boys and girls so poured in and out all day that give a building a soul of dreams and thoughts and memories.” The many good memories were not left in the old halls, for these memories are the spirit of Cass City. Thoughts of basketball games and candy sales and names written on the wall in the ticket booth will stay with us when we think of Cass City High School. We will also have memories of a new environment—memories of pride as we heard visiting students say what a good school Cass City is. The purpose of this book is to help us to remember the years and to show the Spirit of Cass City H.S. in our year of change.
