In September, 1963, 94 freshmen entered the impressive halls of Cass City High School to start the best 4 years of our lives, a career as students. Among the most exciting events was building our float and the election of freshmen officers. Our class was led by President, Grant Goodall; Vice President, Lin Calka; Secretary, Diane Freiburger; Treasurer Phil Gray, our class sponsor was Miss Mendelin. Somehow we made through those days of red ''F’s on our faces and the feeling of being greenhorns. How we looked up to the seniors! It seemed like such a long distance up the ladder of study to become a senior. Now, most of us probably wish we were freshmen again, eager to learn and impatient to grow up. We eventually settled down to work as sophomores and with the objective of raising money for the senior trip firmly in mind. Our leaders that year were: President, Ed Ackerman, Vice President, Jim Brown; Secretary, Diane Freiburger; Treasurer, Sue Kelley; Sponsor, Mr. Hirn. Our most climaxing moment of the year was when our long-awaited class rings arrived. Other activ- ities were our float, the Carnival and a bake sale. Our junior year was packed with many exciting moments. Some of the students felt the best part about a junior was the fact it would be the last year of required English. Our junior class officers were: President, Joyce Smentek, Vice President, Gail Hoffman; Secretary, Phil Gray; Treasurer, Linda Hicks; Sponsors, Mr. Cardew and Miss Isbister. We were kept busy with our magazine sale, and bake sales. Then came a highlight, putting on the prom In the Misty Moonlight. Then in September 1966 suddenly, unbelievably! we were MIGHTY SENIORS and enrolled for the last time. Our senior year has now drawn to a close and we have completed an important phase of our education. Our officers this year were; President, Tim Knight; Vice President, Bob MacDonald; Sec- retary, Sue Kelley; Treasurer, Rona Rayl; Sponsors, Mr. Bass and Mrs. Wallace. Our senior year has been crammed full of activities. There were candy sales, stationery sales and dances to raise money for the long awaited senior trip that every one had looked forward to for the past 4 years. We boarded the SS South American for a cruise, those next three days were the event that kept us the busiest of our lives, and it is doubtful if we will ever forget them. A little regretfully, it will be hard to say good-bye to all our friends but we will always look back on our days at C.C.H.S. as the happiest moment in our lives. Senior Poll PRETTIEST SMILE Diane Freiburger, and A1 Zawilinski. PRETTIEST HAIR Bonnie Lapp, Phil Nichols and Chris Mark. MOST TALENTED Sue Kelly and Tim Knight. The evening began with Toastmaster, Rick Kaufman, who introduced Mary Lou Winchester who gave the invocation. Then, we all enjoyed a meal prepared for us by the Junior Mothers. Next came the entertainment for the evening, Dale Bullock began the program singing The Impossible Dream . He was followed by Joan Maleck, Junior Class President, who gave an address to the Senior. After Joan's speech we were relaxed with a song sang by Don Joos and Gail Hoffman, Titled There’s a Place for Us . 34 Junior-Senior Banquet Joan Maleck Gail Hoffman and Don Joos Mr. Ackerman Next on the program Debbie Boylan sang Summer Time which put us in the mood for Tim Knight, Senior Class President, who gave the senior's farewell speech. After Tim finished we all enjoyed Save Your Heart for Me , which was presented by Sue Kelley and Linda Hicks. After 24 years of teaching at Cass City Mr. Frank Weatherhead was presented with a gift from the Junior and Senior classes and the Annual staff, by Terri Rabideau. We are sure Mr. Weatherhead will have many Moments to Remember from C.C.H.S. and that was the title of the next song which Rose Fritz sang. The evening was coming to an end with Mr. Ackerman who gave the faculty toast. Just for a final touch Dale Bullock and Mary Sue Burns sang Sayonara which was the title of this years Banquet.
