At right we see the group as they return to the school. At left the students seem to be returning rather reluc- tantly, but it won't be for long because commence- ment is justone week away. Senior Swingout a j 1961 Once again the seniors step forth from the south en- trance of the high school on their tour down town for the annual swingout march. At left the class is shown starting the tour of the business district. As usual the band leads the way. This is perhaps the last time this year that they will have a chance to march together.

Class History As we entered Cass City High School in the fall of 1956, the future looked bright before us. Some were a little afraid but most of us looked forward to the adventures that lay just ahead. The four years in high school passed swiftly and now we stand at the entrance of another new and exciting world. In our Freshman year, we were led by President, Jim Ross; Vice-President, Carol Morell; Secretary, Sally Hobart; and Treasurer, Gary Hutchinson. Under the leadership of Mr. Harry Miller and Mr. Wayne Wilson, our advisers, we worked toward our Senior Trip that seemed so far away then. As projects we sold basketball pins, bake sales, sponsored disk-jockey dances and went caroling at Christmas. Summer vacation went all too quickly and we returned in the fall as Sophomores. For class officers we chose: President, Paul Holmberg; Vice-President, Art Randall; Secretary, Linda Richards; and Treasurer, Carl McIntosh. Our class sponsors, who helped us through a successful year, were Mr. Michael Eckhart, and Mr. James Seals. Our main activities were the selling of stationery and the sponsoring of disk-jockey dances. Our Junior year went by even faster than previous years had and will always stand out in our minds. We were headed by President, Gordon Goodall; Vice-President, Dick Albee; Secretary, Donna Wildman; and Treasurer, Art Randall. Mr. Orion Cardew and Miss Carol Mannino directed us through a very prosperous year. During this year, we were a very busy class, selling mums at the Homecoming game, sponsoring the Junior play People vs. Maxine Lowe, along with the annual magazine sale. The honor of giving the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom, Journey to the Stars, was also ours this year. Now our Senior year has drawn to a close. Our class officers this year were: President, Marvin McCormick; Vice-President, Tim Anthes; Secretary, Dick Albee; and Treasurer, Bob Sawdon. Our faithful sponsors during our last year were Mr. Dale Sherman and Mr. Robert Stickle. As we look back we realize that we had a most eventful year. Our Senior play, Meet Me in St. Louis, was warmly received, and the hard work which we put into the candy sales yielded excellent profits. Most of all we will remember the Junior-Senior Banquet. The delicious food, the beautifully decorated gym which carried out the theme Drifting and Dreaming. Foremost in our minds is our long awaited trip on the S. S. South American from Detroit to Chicago, the short stop over at Mackinac Island, the two days spent in Chicago at the Palmer House, and the long train ride back to Imlay City. All too fast came Swing-Out, Baccalaureate and the night we had all waited for, Commencement. The halls are now silent as the last Senior leaves, but the hardest of all are the goodbyes to all our friends. We, the class of 1961, leave a little sorrowfully and regretfully, but we will remember all of the wonderful, good times we had at Cass City High School.
