G ass Qrophecy T1me 1966 Place Here and There and Everywhere Mr Sr Mrs Lynwood Lapeer fthe former Jeanette Neall who operates a Creamery declded to take a tr1p through the forty elght states as thelr busmess was thr1v1ng They bought a car from the F1nkbe1ner Auto Sales frlled lt w1th gas from Lon Decker s Mob1le Service and declded to take a lunch along They stocked up on prov1s1ons at Patterson s Grocery and Ell1s Bottllng Works where Sue Bell and Mary Lou Wald were fa1thful workers Whlle pass1ng through the outsklrts of the c1ty they found Mrs Ioyce Stevens and Mrs Ioyce KMorelll Neal hanging out their weekly wash Upon enterlng the rural area they came upon an enormous farm and were surprlsed to f1nd lt was Jomtly owned by Wayne Whlttaker and Alv1n McKee 'Iravelmg was fast and they arr1ved rn Pontlac Just m tlme for the evening meal Wa1t1ng for a traffrc l1ght they saw Mr 61 Mrs Eugene Cleland returnlng home from a day s work at h1s photo graphy shop Gettlng 1nto the heart of the c1ty they stopped at a hotel clalmed to be the largest and f1nest 1n the state whlch was owned and operated by Gerrold Perry There they stayed for the n1ght They declded to eat breakfast on the way and stopped at Anker s Grill Ieanette pressured Lynwood 1nto gomg to Detrolt to the fashlonable Salon of Mane Gurdon where only the f1nest fashlons are sold Whlle Jeanette shopped Lynwood sauntered 1nto McConkey s Men s Wear Leavmg there they contlnued on to the Champlon s Sea Foods where they found Sam as a very able proprletor They were Just rn tlme for the floor show and were happy to come across such fam llar faces as Reva Hutch1nson's and Grace Kanaby s who were at that t1me two of the best known Before ret1r1ng they happened to read the headllnes of the newspaper Ron Behr Becomes The Second Babe Ruth Up brlght and early the next day they headed westward Arr1v1ng at Indlanapolls they thought they would llke to see the famous speedway The top drrvers were D1ck Dunn I1m Connolly Ierry Gllllland and Ilm Gulsbert Passlng through Iowa they were amazed at the s1ze of the ranches They were more amazed to fmd that they were owned by our better dalrymen Allen Hartwlck and Dlck Carpenter Operat1ng a motel where they stopped for the evenlng was Pat Czapla They had qulte a chat and found that the former Marge Follman was the mother of twlns She also Sald that Don Nye would teach them to fly rn forty f1ve mlnutes at the nearby alrport Headmg south they reached MISSOUT1 and passlng by Fort Leonard Wood they saw as the gu ards Jerry Hurshburger and Reglno Lopez Upon reachmg Texas they heard of the Rocklng Y Ranch run by the horse lover Ianlce Youngs At the resort where they spent the n1ght Iudy Coykendall was the desk clerk and because Iean nette had a headache she was sent to the nurse of the resort who was Mary Donnelly Northward to Colorado to see the Boulder Dam where Iack Clara was the head englneer on a re pa1r job In Denver they declded to have a n1ght on the town One of the hlgh spots was the Galety Th eater owned by 11m McCarthy and featurmg Colleen McNamara a dancer of some repute At Salt Lake City Utah Patsy McConnell and Marlene Rlcketts were in charge of a buslness school where Dorthea TerBush was the head of the shorthand department Movlng to Ca11fOI'l'11a they were surprlsed at the number of classmates they saw P1ck1ng up a newspaper they saw that Alv1e Evans was top scorer on the U C L A Football team 1 l 0 I . . Now that we completed the thlrd book we lard lt asrde wrth the fourth and last book of knowledge Realizing this to be our last year rn school we elected these very effr crent officers Presldent Caren Cummings V1ce Presldent Bob Langmald Secretary Dorothea Terbush Treasurer Iaflet CalSteI' Student Councll Representatlve Jack Clara In the sprxng of 1955 the student body elected Bonme Prne to serve as the Presrdent of the Student Councll for the 1955 56 school year For our Homecommg Game and Dance the students chose as queen Ianet Caxster and her court Carol O Nell and Bonme Pme Durmg the Chrrstmas va cat1on we sponsored a dance Wxnter Wonderland In Aprll the senlors, mothers and others helped us put on our very successful Tur key Dlnner After many nrghts of pract1ce we presented our Senror Play Commencement Finally May 30th came, the day we all walted for We started on our Class Trip to New York where we all had a wonderful t1me It showed on our faces as we came down the alsle for Baccalaureate Commencement Nlght, Iune 5th, we all gathered together as a class for the last t1me to recelve our dlplomas Sharon Ackerman Conme Bartle Sponsors . .... . . . .... . .Mr. Holmberg and Mr. Helser

ass roplzecy Conme Bartle and Ioan Seeley owned a nursmg home to accommodate the aged mov1e stars Lu ella Spencer asslsted them On the SOC1StY page they came upon the name of an old classmate K ren Otls She and her fam1ly were paylng a vlsit to her uncle Back ln therr hotel relaxlng and llstenmg to the rad1o the program was 1nterrupted for a speclal news bulle rn Caren Cumm1ngs and Sharon Ackerman had Just flmshed swlmmlng the Engllsh Channel Gomg for a swlm themselves they were surpr1sed to see Rosemary Fuester and Catherme Grady lolllng on the beach They sa1d they were tak1ng thelr yearly vacatlon After spendlng several more weeks m Cal1forn1a they turned homeward They dec1ded to go to church on Sunday mormng so they bought a local paper to fmd one Reachmg the church they were welcomed by the fam111ar face of the former Shlrley Kllbourne She was the mlH1St9I' s w1fe Norma Gu1nther was the guest sololst that day V1s1t1ng w1th therr old classmates they were told that Velda H1ll l1ved ln a nearby town w1th her husband Norma sa1d she had recerved a letter from home saymg that Iudy Howell had fmally gone on her long awalted tr1p to Europe to f1ll some speaklng engagements Dec1d1ng they had better h1t the road they bade thelr frlends good bye As lt was gettmg late matlon The hobo was Paul O Harrls and he sa1d there was a n1ce warm boxcar 1n a town about for ty mlles away They d1dn t thmk that th1s was such a good ldea so they stopped at a farm after awh rle Above the gate was a srgn that sa1d Iack Perry Sheep Farm They had a good nlght s sleep and hurrled on the next mormng They stopped at the stockyards ln Chlcago and Bob Langmald was the auctloneer He had just sold the Grand Champlon owned by Dale Bader Durlng the next day s travels they came upon an acc1dent W'hen they got out to 1nvest1 gate they were surpr1sed to f1nd the dnvers to be Ierry Down1ng and Gordon Drourllard Spymg the nurse who looked fam1l1ar Ieanette approached her to f1nd she was Ianet Calster After thmgs were under control they V1Slted awhlle Ianet told them that two of the local nurses were Bonnle Pine and Ruth Seurynck Arrlvlng at Grand Raplds they read ln the paper that Beverly McClorey had just been awarded the pos1t1on of Dlrector of Nurses at Mercy Hospltal On her staff was Ianet F1eld As thelr money was gettlng low they hastened home That evenlng Mr 6: Mrs Bob Iones fthe former Ianrce Bartlel had a dlnner party celebratmg thelr return The meat for the dmner was one of Dale Iseler s del1c1ous turkeys The next day relaxlng over a second cup of coffee Ieanette plcked up the Chronlcle to f1nd two of the teachmg posltlons had been f1lled by Iean Magel as Dean of Glrls and Yvonne Krohn teachmg Commerce Thls lS what we prophesy for the class of 1956 ' .
