The new rocket ship world we live in is something we would never have believed only a quarter of a century ago. Yes, the whole Universe has changed and the 1951 seniors of U.C. H.S. have traveled far and wide in search of fame and fortune. We thought it would be interestingto know just vhat our fellor graduates have contributed to this advanced civilization so we planned -• trip that would take us through the universe, ne started in our old home town and found that many of our old friends have settled down right here. Shirley Cooper is the head doctor in the new Lity hospital built on the out skirts of Cass City. Janet Biddle and (ary Soodall head her list as very com- petent nurses. Myrtle bowden and Joan Dodge are run- ning a night club here in town with Ce- cilia Brown doing a fine job entertain- ing their patrons. Howard Anker the proud owner of 2,000 acresjemploys aS his hired hands Douglas Bird, Wallace Brown, and Frank rerguson. Every Saturday night he throws a barn dance with Bill Sinclair doing a fine job calling the square dances. Also running a farm not quite aslarge as Anker's Acres are Lota and Lee Har- tel. Loach Paddy is overjoyed now that his whole team consists of Hartels. Large families always were nice. ihe roller rink here in Cass City has been taken over by «sargi e Karr, Lil- lian Hnatiuk, and Arlene Wills. We were surprised to see Jim bis- hop out on the field, rvo, not as a player but as a coach. The old boy still keeps in condition with his bed time snack of ohredded V.'heat.. As we passed over Detroit two rocket racers zoomed past. Although they were very fast we caught a glimpse of Harry Watkins and Jess V.'illerton piloting the rocket ships. On the side of the ships was written heed's Kuff'n Ready sock- ets, Inc. Our next stop was Washington D. C . Y.e were not at all surprised to find Kichard urlowski heading the Democratic list for President of U.S. with Alfred Murray as Vice-President. (e were shocked, however, into realizing that this is getting to be a woman's world. The opposing candidates on the republi- can ticket are none other than Jessie Pry for President and llene Ludlow for Vice-President. This is sure to bring the Republicans back into the Yihite House. Unce a year (red Ackerman, Pete Bog- nar, and Marvin Pratt come to Washing- ton for their annual job of pruning the cherry trees. ihe rest of the year they are hobos. As we traveled on we arrived in hew York City and found that the little fel- low of our class. Jack Van Allen, has become a big man on ..ell Street. Nancy DeLong has been requested to sing in a command performance at the Metropolitan Opera. Next stop, Atlantic City, the home of Kiss America, our own Hope Wurtz. Edna wae Hill is the Dean of a well known girl's college down in Sunny Florida. He is searching for information on Russia'slatest bomb. We believe it's the one they were sup- posed to have in 1951. We had heard Melva McConnell was a missionary in India. Y e stopped there long enough to say hello and complain about the heat. She informed us there were other people who didn't like her hot country. For example, Raymon Mar- cum and Ed Neal are living in Alaska. They are running the Penguin Paradise a famous resort. Eunice Tuckey and Mary Lou Kilbourn are living dangerously as ski instructors there. ie PROPHECY Before we went back to the states, we just couldn't miss stopping in Japan long enough to see GeneralFred Milligan who has replaced General Mac Arthur. As we zoomed over Hawaii we looked down below and saw Gerald Langmaid's pineapple plantation. bpon our arrivalin good Old Califor- nia, we were greeted by bob Alexander and-his All jirl aagtirr.e Band. In Reno, Nevada we came across the famous lawyer, Tom Townsend. his last case was securing a divorce for our mo- vie star, nalph Doyen, better known as Charles Doyer. Is this the fifth or sixth for aalph? Roger has moved the Little Funeral Home to Death Valley. Fay Cook and Shirley Loomis who had already estab- lished a flower shop there have signed a thirty year contract with Roger. CONTINUED New Orleans welcomes us back to Earth in the persons of Carol Howarth and Dale Turner. Carol Howarth is the editor of True otory Magazine and Dale Turner is a photographer for the New urleans Times. V.e traveled up the Mississippi with rt earner as th captain of our boat, art informed us that Norma ttyde and Glen.na Copland have a showboat on these waters. In St. oouis, Vo.j A. D. Fredricks manufactures electrical aopliances and has Geraldine aarr as his most reliable secretary. Getting a little closer to home we stopped at Chicago and visited the 'Breakfast Club where Chuch Watson was master of ceremonies. He was busily interviewing ooan Downing who is the star and director of The ice Follies . In Arizona were we surprised to find the unusual occupation Marilyn Agar had selected for herself, ohe keeps house, while just across the street alvena Behr has a career while her husband keeps house. Two of our former classmates, Betty Hobson and Betty hill, are in Texas now running the hi Sky Drive-Inn. Speaking of sky, we decided to take a short trip to Mars so we first went to Flash Gordorfs oky Rocketing Agency'.' Barbara decided to pilot us herself. When we arrived on Mars, we were greeted by a huge army. The leader of this army was Capt. Ben Hobart. The Queen of Lars, Sally Colbert, gave us a royal greeting. Eugene Kloc was also there to welcome us and as in high school days , he was still wear- ing the brightest socks made. Nothing could beat those bright green ones he used to wear, though- Dorothy Pawlovski makes a very caoa- ble ambassador to Wars with the help of Jack stahlbaum as her attache. e couldn't miss stopping at Kansas City where Jim rox and Chet Borland are running a dude ranch. They are well known for their selling of red hats and hard cider. Our high school days really got a hold of us and we hit upon the idea of taking our Senior Trip over again. Two of our classmates, Beverly Wheaton and Willa Toner, have a permanent job of being chaperones and have been making this trip every year for fifteen years. We can see how they got their jobs be- cause Jacqueline Deneen is the captain. Senior classes now-a-davs have Bemeice Lis to predict their future for them. Fortune telling business is booming. We surely enjoyed our second Senior Trip but we were glad to be back on land. Before going back to Cass City we stopped at Detroit's City Hall to congratulate Mary Lou Caister who has just been elected mayor of that city. Back in Cass City we settled down in our mansion, two dejected old maids. Over on the planet of Jupiter, stars are being made. ftenola tielwig is the coach there for the Universal Girl's Basketball team. On the way back to Earth we met John McCormick on his way to Neptune. He is a traveling salesman for the Fuller Brush Company. 17 CLASS HISTORY In September, 19U? we managed to crov-d 109 students into our space ship. Of course we were all a little frightened, shy, and very undecided just where to set ourselves. Before we could begin our trip we had to enter the huge and ominous looking building, the Cass City High School. As we entered •re marveled at the many conveniences, tools, and materials which we were later going to be exposed to. We were instruct- ed to go to a mass meeting of all the students in the aud- itorium. There we received our instructions which began our trip into space for four years. It wasn't long until we chose our pilot and co-pilots for our ambitious group. Sally Coloert was chosen President, Arlene Lane----Vice President, Marion Kritzman----Secretary, and Eugene Chapin as Treasurer. Mrs. Oatley was our class sponsor. Through our freshman year we all studied diligently and continually struggled to raise money. The year went by and we found ourselves out on vacation and facing three more years of high school. OUR SPONSORS Vacation practically flew by and we found ourselves enter- ing once again upon the tasks of increasing our knowledge. To help us accomplish this we had to select leaders to lead us. We chose as President—Arlene Lane, Vice President—Jim Fox, Treasurer—Pat Stirton, Secretary—Jack Jennex and Miss Hunt was our sponsor for the year. This year went a little faster than the previous year and we felt a little more at home and at ease. Before we realized it we were once more embarking on an- other fourth of our space trip. This year we realized that we had important things to accomplish. Our pilots were Jim Bishop---president, Lota Little—Vice-President, Carol How- arth—Secretary, Chester Dorland---Treasurer, and Mr. Cardew served as our class sponsor. It was during this year we had the opportunity to entertain our fellow classmates and the public. We succeeded in doing this by presenting a hilari- ous comedy called January Thaw . We also had the privilege of dicing the seniors an enjoyable evening at the Junior--- Senior Banquet and Prom. Our theme was The Day of Ascend- ing on High At last we approch our last fourth of our space trip. We are assuming the responsibilities which tall on seniors. Our class pilots were Ilene Ludlow—President, Eugene Kloc—Vice President, Marilyn Wagg---Secretary, Chester Dorland—Treas- urer with Mr. Holmberg as sponsor. As a reward for our en- during efforts we the seniors boarded a boat and journeyed to Detroit, Soo, Lake Superior, Mackinaw Island and then re- turned home. On June 10 we held our Baccalaureate service- and on June 12 we the seniors of 51 aH participated in our last important event. Commencement. We, the seniors, are leaving Cass City High a little sor- rowful and regretful. Some may continue their education. But their is one point on Which we all agree----nothing can coup are to the four years we spent in Cass City High School.
