Their play, the turf and our lack of championship experience proved to be too much for us to overcome. Bloomington Central Catholic would emerge as state champs. 23

WINNING!!! Anything for extra luck ... Finally the Trip to “ISU in ’82” The students said goodbye and good luck . . . All of the area had eyes for “only Casey.” Newspapers wrote stories about us and reporters interviewed our players, coaches and teachers. The citizens of Casey traveled miles to see the “dream team” and merchants painted their windows. Ex-CHS students, now attending college or living elsewhere, chanted Warrior slogans. For what seems like now, only a fleeting moment, Casey and its Warriors were all that mattered. So to Bloomington the caravan journeyed and with it, hopes and dreams for a once in a lifetime game. 22 Richard and Todd meditation
