Color Us Purple and Gold!! playoffs” had cn just an expression to the Casey Warriors and to most of the LIC. The ’74 Warriors advanced to the quarter finals and Marshall won two games in ’79. As the ’82 football season approached. the Warriors were picked “maybe second,” in the Conference. Everyone said, “Next year - that’s Casey’s year.” The first game of the season spelled doom for the Warriors as West Vigo defeated us 14-8. Some, who had a greater insight, however, felt that even though we played less than desirable, there was something waiting to be ignited! Little did Casey or the LIC realize that even though our season began with a loss, it set the stage for The Excitement of beating Cumberland in the Homecoming Clash!

SPACE I FflWTWSV The ’82 Warriors: Second in State! Thus, the Warriors’ defeated at first, strove on. Leaving contenders Oblong and Martinsville behind them, the climb on the warpath would only get tougher. Stopping Marshall was to be their next great conquest. With this victory would come a trip to the State playoffs which for the Warriors, would end on the turf in Bloomington!!!
