1 Casey High School Senior Class 1981 Flame Goes Western When it is time to select a yearbook theme the staff thinks of several ideas. Getting everyone to settle on one is the problem. This year we followed the lead of the student council and chose “Western.” The idea rings of good ole days and times. Also, the spirit of the west led our pioneers to meet challenges, which brings us to today. In response to the problems of inflation, foreign affairs and general dismay, the U.S. overwhelmingly elected Ronald Reagan as the 40th President. Also, on Jan. 20th, the hostages were released from Iran. What a way to perpetuate the Republican theme, “A New Beginning.” Once, the west represented that beginning to the pioneers. Enjoy your Flame, pardner! Perhaps, there are better days ahead. Round’em Up CHS The next sixteen pages, eight of which are color, represent Homecoming memories and some of the other activities around school. The Senior section is entirely in color. We are proud to present this new feature in the Flame and hope that we can continue the color. We are able to do so with the help of the Senior Class. Thanks!! 2 Howdy, Pardner.” Fire drills, a break from class... This is not a laughing matter. Look at my style! 3 Our Home- coming 4 Queen Sara Seed and her escort. Gregg Whaley. Student Council: Tanning the Herd The job of being a student council member — a good one — is not easy. To those who are responsible and creative members, we say “thanks.” The rec room is one of the few in the state. Let's all chip in and take care of it! When this section went to press the Student Council had sponsored the Homecoming, our school Christmas program, had sold pies at the Little lllini Tourney, and was in the process of selecting a formal name for the gym. This year’s Homecoming, with the theme of “Western” was very well received. There was a lot of student involvement as cowboy hats and other garb were worn all week. We are looking forward to more success as this team gains experience. Welcome!! Susie wonders. What do you think, Brent? The audience is impressed. Perhaps we should guess on this one.” suggests Chris, the sam's highest scorer. 88 a 89 Band: ’Movin on and Up We are very encouraged by the band and how it is growing.
