Future Farmers of America The main purposes of FFA are to develop agricultural leadership, cooperation, citizenship, and improved agriculture. The club sponsor was Mr. Boyer. The officers were: president, Allen Leohr; vice president, Larry Comer; treasurer, Charles Chapman; secretary, Clinton Smith; reporter, Richard Grafton; sentinel, Gary Miller. Some of the activities of the FFA were Parent and Son Banquet, trip to Indianapolis Stockyards, skating party, joint meetings with other chapters, Section 20 Sweetheart Dance, and officers’ training school. ROW 2: Nancy Hendershott, Linda Cortelyou, Pam Spehar, Darlene Bricks, Joyce Legg, Pat Wright, Judy Thompson, Barbara Farley, Carole Funk, Linda Spraggins. ROW 3: Sandra Bird, Jerry Revalee, Leroy McKinzie, Lynne Whitton, Dick Barnett, Ed Orrell, Elaine Morehead, Eddie Paul, Bob Thomas, Diane Burnett. The Future Teachers of America is a national organization which was established by the National Education Association of the United States in 1937. The Future Teachers Club seeks to encourage young people to cultivate in themselves the qualities of personality and character which are the foundations of successful teaching, to acquaint young people with the inspiring story of the schools, and to provide young people with specific information about opportunities in the various fields of education. Although the Casey chapter is but a few years old, it strives to be a permanent asset to the school and community, and to better itself while doing so. The officers this year were: Jacquie Kline, president; Trudy Groothuis, vice president and student council representative; Sue Smith, secret ary-treasurer; Brenda Hobbs, historian-librarian; Karen Durnal, parliamentarian, and Mrs. Tingley, sponsor.

The purpose of GAA is to develop sportsmanship and a better understanding among the girls, through participation in groups and individual games. Some activities which occurred this year were the Fall Play Day, Formal Initiation, Christmas Party, and Spring Play Day. The group participated in selling candy, ice skating, swimming, roller skating, hiking and picnicing. The GAA also won first prize in the Homecoming parade with their float Got the World on a String.” The officers were: president, Peggy Foster; vice president, Judy Black, secretary, Carole Funk; treasurer, Jacquie Kline; student council representative, Patty Wright.
