Future Homemakers of America The FHA is designed to help the teenage girl interested in home economics to become more familiar with modern homemaking ideas and activities on a national and international scope. This year’s activities included the formal initiation, a watermelon feed, UNICEF Trick-or-Treat, Daddy Date Night, Children's Christmas Party, a slumber party. Sweetheart Dance, FHA Week, Section 14 Rally, Officers’ training meeting, and Mother-Daughter Banquet. Student Council The Student Council has many duties which must be performed each year. The council is in general charge of Homecoming. The organization also selects Lyceum programs, has charge of noon hour recreation, and the election of cheerleaders. Each spring the council conducts the class elections for officers. Other activities of the council include the clean-up campaign, talent scout and department programs, a polio campaign, and the sending of cards to ill students. The council, a student governing body, is made up from students from every class and organization. The officers of the council for this year were: Diana Kline, president; Ted Hutton, vice president; and Sandra Staley, secretary-treasurer.
