z IL' 5 1 f f Message to the students: For the last seven years, I have in my message said farewell to our graduating students and wished them the best of luck in their endeavors. I have tried to give them reason to be proud of their school, have con- fidence in their preparation, keep up to date through continuing education programs, and participate in the organizational affairs of the profession. For theirs is the future, and they must help shape it. I extend these same thoughts to you again this year, but I do it with a certain feeling of sadness and nostalgia. As you know, I am leaving the University to as- sume the Directorship of the National Institute of Dental Research. I shall miss my contacts with all of the people whom I have gotten to know so well, and who have been so helpful in making a difficult job workable and pleasant. I shall treasure my relationships with the students, for they are the reason we all give of ourselves in education, and they are the source of the satisfaction we derive. Again,-success, happiness, and a bright professional future-may they all be yours. David B. Scott
