In the classroom or office, he is never too busy to assist in the solution of a pressing difficulty or problem. For this, Casey will remember him well. PLACEMENT DIRECTOR Genial Larry Denison, Case alumnus, in his first year as placement director, is advis- ing men concerning entering the services or industry. Hav- ing experience in engineering and securities, he has re- turned to Case for the dura- tion. DEFENSE DIRECTOR Prof. Clyde A. McKeeman is one of the busiest men on the Case campus. As chairman of Case ' s evening division and director of defense train- ing he plays a leading part in the program of coopera- tion with the war effort. Clyde A. McKeeman ALUMNI SECRETARY Mr. Charles F. Chapman, better known as Chappie to all Case men, performs the important function of being the tie between Case and alumni in all parts of the world. Chappie is the chairman of the Board of Publications and manager of The Alumnus. TREASURER Mr. W. Griffin King is the man to ask if you want to know where the money goes and where it comes from. He ' s Case ' s able and effi- cient treasurer . . . bearing the responsibility of keeping Case ' s books on the credit side. DEFENSE TRAINING War activities . . . the key- note of life at Case. New courses for defense workers in the Case War Training Annex Building have at- tracted many students in both day and evening divi- sions . . . students coming from both army and civilian life. °Pm Qn 17

Focke, and just as soon comes to acquire a mingled feeling of respect and admiration for him. Dean Focke, a Case graduate, is always ready to help a troubled stu- dent. In addition to his administrative work, supervising the curricula, he is acting as Army and Navy Procure- ment officer on the campus. Lawrence W. Mills is his real name, but no one has ever known him except as Larry. Yes, he is the man you saw when you thought you were flunking, when you were just two jumps ahead of the draft board, and whenever you needed advice. Larry will fix it! you said. Larry became an Army captain this fall, and we hope he can do as much for the war effort as he has done as Big Brother for every Case student. 16
