He is a dedicated teacher who is deeply concerned with our intellectual growth. He is always will¬ ing to lend an ear when we have a problem. He likes to be involved with our lives by attending our concerts, plays, and sporting events. Above all, however, he is a man who has cared about us by teaching us not only History but about life. He wants everyone to excel. If it were up to him we know he would see to it that we all would succeed. He is a very special person to the Class of 1988 and that is why we wish him the best that life has to offer. o O v SUPERINTENDENTS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY ADMINISTRATION SUPERINTENDENT Mr. John E. McCarthy ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT Mr. Harold Devine PRINCIPAL Mr. David Jardin It has been said that ... success comes to those who are neither afraid to fail nor discouraged by failure.” There are two important values implied in this statement. The first is a desire for high achievement which is characterized by people willing to accept the responsibility for dealing with the difficult. A second value for success is the belief that one is personally responsible for his or her own future. We realize all too well that nobody is born with these values already in place. They come about as a result of proper education both in the school as well as in the home. It is the fervent hope of the faculty, staff, and administration of Joseph Case High School that we have played some small part in inculcating these values in the minds of you, our graduates. Best wishes for success to the class of 1988. ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Mr. Gerald Furtado Congratulations on the successful completion of your high school career. It is now time for you to accept the challenge of assuming a leadership role for our future. Accept this responsibility with enthusiasm, pride, and confidence. I sincerely hope that this future will be both enjoyable and reward¬ ing. I wish you the best of luck and happiness. Your graduation day in June will be both an ending and a beginning. You will complete your formal edu¬ cation in the Swansea Public Schools and commence your post secondary education or pursue a chosen career. As you join the ever growing legion of Case High School alumni, your school and community will anxiously anticipate you accomplishments. The Town of Swansea has made a significant investment in your future by providing you with your ele¬ mentary and high school education. I encourage you to apply your natural abilities and enthusiasm to attain your goals in life. Superintendent of Schools John E. McCarthy Never has there been a more exciting or chal¬ lenging time to be graduating from high school. Opportunities for those willing to make a com¬ mittment are limitless. Some of you will go on to higher education; others will choose a different path. Whichever choice you make, you will have opportunities never before available to high school graduates. The success that you will achieve will be a direct outgrowth of the effort and perseverance that you are willing to invest. Your success should be measured not in terms of dollars and cents but rather in terms of satisfac¬ tion and happiness. To all of the graduates of the Class of 1988,1 wish an extra measure of all the good things that can be yours. Assistant Superintendent of Schools Harold G.
