NOW u I I I I AM ‘ rjti 5 Dedication Since we, the class of 1968, have been freshmen, weVe heard about how great a person Mr. Silva, better known as “Unc”, is. As we moved up through the ranks, we began to realize that he was a major figure in the school, both in Administration and as a friend to us. Mr. Silva, in his position as Vice-Principal, must not only discipline us, as he often does, but must also guide us and gain our respect. We feel that he has accomplished all of this and more. We would now like to show appre¬ ciation and gratitude by dedicating our memories of four years to him. Thanks, Unc!!! Foreword As we, the members of the class of 1968, conclude our stay at Joseph Case High School, we experience a new consciousness of time. The times are changing and we are changing with them, yet our yestedays follow us; they constitute our life and they give character, force, and meaning to our present deeds. High school is a time of apprehension, coupled with a new-found freedom. There develops a social responsibility through interaction with others found in a similar situation. As we take greater steps toward our goal of graduation, we obtain valuable experiences. We, the class of 1968, dedicate ourselves to a peaceful and rewarding future—a future which we will help to preserve. 8 Table f Contents Theme . 2 Dedication . 7 Administration and Faculty.11 Seniors . 24 Toddlers . 51 Underclassmen . 56 Activities . 66 Sports . 89 Who’s Who .107 Ads .113 1 ! 9 Our Editor We’ll get that darn bell this time! What? No last wish? Grab it quick! Rough night! Naw, I ain’t no lover. -vu. Got it! 10 Study Hall Nice class, isn’t it. 11 ADMINISTRA TION Mr. Silva, better known as Uncle Ed— secretly to underclassmen, but openly to Seniors—is not the run-of-the-mill Vice- Principal. He commands respect, but he is also always willing to be a friend and con¬ fidant. His service to the school, but most of all his invaluable service to all of us by being available when we need him most —or least—has naturally led him to be one of the men at Case we hold most in our esteem. To him we have dedicated our Chief, but also a promise that we will try to live up to all he stands for. 12 MR. EDWARD R. SILVA Not only is Mr. McCaffrey the chief cook and bottle washer who presides over our school department, but he is a Swansea resident, and most of all, a friend. This is the man upon whose shoulders lie the many and various problems of Swansea and, all too often, the criticism. We don’t get to know Mr. McCaffrey too well during our years at Case, but we always know he is behind the door marked “Administration” and he is the man who keeps things running smoothly. Mr. Couture is also a Swansea resi¬ dent and friend, and plays an impor¬ tant role in the Swansea School De¬ partment. He is in charge of mainten¬ ance and is Mr. McCaffrey’s right hand man. His specific duties include managing our complex bus schedules and maintenance of the various schools. Mr. Couture and Mr. McCaf¬ frey share the responsibilities and decisions and serve Swansea together. DONALD F. McCaffrey ROBERT COUTURE 13 A. ROBERTS Secretary C. HETHERSON Secretary A.
