Foreword Four fleeting, transient years, filled with memories, valued little in the act, but cherished after even only few years have passed. While we are here we are little aware of the unique world in which we are in¬ volved, and when we are gone we shall look back to these years with nostalgic longing. For ours is a world in which we have a greater challenge to develop our abilities and satisfy our needs than anywhere else. It’s these unique experiences that this yearbook attempts, in its own small way, to re¬ capture: the friends, the faculty, the clubs, and the general feeling of the reso¬ nance, and freshness of these years. ■■

Dedication Our yearbook is dedicated to Mr. John Croke, a former mathematics and econom¬ ics teacher, whose young life ended un¬ timely in a tragic accident. Mr. Croke was here at Case High so brief a time that we had just begun to know him; but this much we do remem¬ ber: his life was almost as young as our lives are now. As we leave Case High School this year to face the risks and chal¬ lenges of which the world consists, so too did Mr. Croke terminate his services at Case High School last year to pursue an advanced degree in economics. We are only a year apart in our commencements. There is a type of apprehension that we do not fully understand residing behind our sometimes laughing, sometimes frown¬ ing faces in the pages of this yearbook. Yet we are willing, even impatient, to take the risks, face the same challenges of a world that just a year ago proved to be unkind. Mr. John Croke 1940-1965 4
