REAGAN, PRINCIPAL To the Class cf 1962: You have been living in an era which night he called the old frontier. In fact, this is the theme of your year¬ book. However, you are now about to live in an era which night be termed a new frontier. This frontier has no limits exeeot the limitations that you have within yourselves. This is true of all human endeavor. We are only limited by our own fallibilities. Consequently, you should orepare to become a part of a charging world whose very existence denends on your ability to cope with these changes. Just a few short years ago man was bound to the earth and today he soars through space. The technological and scientific advances which have made this change possible have created a deeper problem and it is this oroblera of the new frontier for which you must oreoare yourself. If you, as an individual, can learn to live harmoniously with your neighbor, then this country can learn to live with other countries. This is the greatest problem in the soace age today. We are challenged, as a nation, to prove that we believe in a oeaceful, democratic life. The United States can only be as strong and respected as you are with the oeonle with whom you associate. I urge you to become a well-informed member of an enlightened electorate to foster a better life for this country in its dealings with other nations. My personal best wishes to you. 10
