Seniors Win Homecoming started with the crowning of the queen. Jera Lyons. Becky Albus and Hol- ly Walker were named homecoming prin- cesses. Noontime activities were a balloon pop. toi- let-paper weave, a banana-split-eating con- test, and scavenger hunt. The seniors were disqualified from the banana-split-eating contest because they unfairly disposed of some of their ice cream. This small setback did not stop the seniors from racking up points in other areas. They won first place for the week, with 145 points; sophomores were second, with 125 points; and juniors came in third, with 115 points. 'This was the closest finish that we've had in a long time ' said Mr. Harry Walker, vice-princi- pal. Alison Capps said, The different ac- tivities — banana-split feed, toilet-paper, and scavenger hunt — allowed us to watch fellow students make fools of themselves. The spirit days were Cartoon Day, chosen by the sophomores; Toga Day, juniors; Around-the-World Day, chosen by seniors; dress-up day, and black and gold day. The seniors had the best day. Around-the-World resulted in a beautiful hall decoration con- sisting of flags from the nations of the world, said junior, Dwight Bales. The football team won the Friday game against North Marion, 31-6. Wrapping up the spirited week was the homecoming dance. The decorations were great, but the music could have been better, said senior, Beth DeHut. Said junior, Kirk Nichols, I was proud to be a part of Homecoming '85 here at Cas- cade. It made me feel a sense of pride in our school, our community, and our student body.
