It was the general contention of coaches, spectators and wrestlers that the Cougar Team did a fine job this season. They succeeded in wrestling their way to first place at the District meet, and they sent eleven wrestlers to the State Tournament held at Oregon State University. Of the eleven wrestlers who went to the state meet, three received a placing. They were: 6th place—Russ Ivie at 157 lbs.; 5th place—Duane Ballweber at 115 lbs.; 3rd place—Pete Peterson wrestling at 98 lbs. The team was coached by Mr. Connelly and assistant coach Mr. Klein. It was under their leadership that the team grappled their way to so many victories. On these pages are some of the holds and predicaments that faced our wrestlers during the 1969 season.
