Charles M. Dickinson The Children Are the teachers of today too easy with their students? The days of teaching by the hickory stick are certainly gone. Today, freedom is taught and practiced in our schools, but freedom is not given without responsibility. Students of our modem schools, such as Cascade, live, work, and play in a true democracy. They have a better chance than their parents and grand parents had, to express themselves and learn about the modern age in which they live. With this opportunity for real freedom, they receive the experience that will make them the leaders of tomorrow. As we dedicate our yearbook to Cascade on it's tenth birthday, we would also like to pay a special tribute to the teachers and especially the people who were present at the birth of our school in 1950. These teachers as pictured on the opposite page are: Louis J. Urhammer, Harold Dutton, Eleanor DeCamp, Ruth Riches, Mary Seim, John Seim, Milton Gralap and Martha Angus.
